Atkins diet can help you lose weight, to have good health and prevent diseases. Promotes the consumption of protein, minerals and vitamins and decrease the amount of carbohydrates in the daily diet. Atkins diet phasesThere are four steps to be taken:
Stage I - Induction - will be followed two weeks: the consumption of carbohydrates is reduced to 20 grams per day. This induces a state in which the body is forced to produce and eliminate ketones. During this period we are witness to a serious weight loss. The only foods permitted are: fish (tuna, catfish, herring, trout, sardines), meat (chicken, turkey, beef, miles, pork), eggs cooked in any form. The only drink is water, at least 2 liters a day and occasionally coffee or decaffeinated tea.
Phase II - Weight loss - increases the amount of carbohydrates by 5 grams each week until it reaches a number that is no longer seen as losing weight. The 5 grams can be taken from fresh fruits and vegetables, and gradually you can add nuts and seeds.
Phase III - Pre-maintenance - when we get rid of 2-3 kg can proceed to the intermediate phase to a healthy lifestyle. The ratio of carbohydrates increases progressively until it reaches the critical level. That's because the last kilograms must go in a long time, providing the ability to adjust to what's going to be a diet.
Phase IV - Maintenance - The diet's objective is to maintain the figure, constantly controlling the amount of carbohydrates. If that happens to take the weight, all you have to do is to reduce the basis weight of carbohydrates again. After 30-35 years of age metabolism is slowed down and we will again need a weight loss diet.
